We are entitled to fill in ‘identity’ as European, since it’s about self identity and will not be used as data for reporting nationality. The census has separate questions on where you were born.
For identity you can tick ALL that apply, so you could in fact be British and European or Welsh and European, etc. Take the opportunity to express your identity as a European!!
